First, decide whether or not you want a church wedding. Some churches will allow non-members to get married there; others will not. Some churches have restrictions on the types of ceremonies that they will allow, while others are very flexible. Many members of the clergy are happy to also perform ceremonies outside their own house of worship and are willing to travel to a secular site of your choosing. If you don’t need or want a religious ceremony, however, a local Justice of the Peace, Notary Public, or Town Clerk might be your best choice. The more time that you allow to decide your preferences and research your options, the less stressful the entire planning process will be for you and your family. Ordained in 1985 and a parish minister ever since, I have performed countless weddings of all kinds in the church and outside of the church. I work with you, the wedding couple, to create a service that expresses the nature of your relationship and the highest purpose of the service. From traditional to contemporary to personalized, your wedding will be a public affirmation of the spiritual bonding of your lives. Inter-faith couples and services are welcomed.
Facilities: The Fryeburg New Church, located in Fryeburg, ME (on the NH border), is a beautiful traditional setting that will seat 120. There are seperate areas for the bride and her party and the groom. Facilities for small reception. Will also perform services at the site of your choice.
Rates: $500.00 for a full wedding, including meeting with the couple three or more times, preparing the service text, one rehearsal and the service. Mileage additional for travel of over 25 miles.
