Communication is critical in selecting the right music and musicians for your special day. Some of your choices will be dictated by whether you’re planning a formal or informal wedding (or something in between). When considering professional musicians, please keep in mind that many of them are booked a year or more in advance. Also, please keep in mind that the repertoire of music that is considered acceptable for weddings and receptions is vast, and that your tastes may be very different than the next couple’s. Be very specific as to the type of music that you’re expecting, and, if getting married in a church or synagogue, be aware that popular music may not be allowed because of the sacredness of the marriage rites.
